One of the great things about the internet is the ease and availability of high quality information. When I was in my teens and early 20s, I had to either buy books or rent them from the library to learn about a subject. Now we can search on our smartphones or computers and instantly obtain information. The convenience and opportunities are truly tremendous!
Personally, I read articles daily about saving, investing, and money. I am always looking for an edge to improve my strategies and approach towards money. Below are some of my favorite websites that I frequent to learn more about saving, investing, and money:
- CNBC (www.cnbc.com) This website is my top pick due to their detailed articles, interviews, and commentary. CNBC is also a television network and they create some of the best money related content on the web. Their website covers money, business, investing, politics, and more. Expect to see big name interviews and excerpts from titans in the world of business.
- Forbes (www.forbes.com) Another top tier website that provides valuable investing and business related content. It is so good that I even subscribe to their physical magazine! Forbes has been churning out excellent money related content for decades.
- Yahoo! Finance (finance.yahoo.com) This website is focused on publishing investment news and related information. They produce many articles about specific stocks and other types of investments. I enjoy using this website for up to date news, stock quotes, and investment ideas.
- Investopedia (www.investopedia.com) As the name infers, this website offers investment information, tips, strategies, and ideas. Their articles deep dive into specific stocks and investments. Investopedia has a wealth of investment information that can be understood by all levels of investors.
- NerdWallet (www.nerdwallet.com) Any money nerd loves reading this website. They provide tons of tips, tricks, and hacks about saving more money. This website has a lot to offer for someone looking to be financially savvy and is worth visiting frequently.
Now here are a few approaches describing how to keep these websites easily accessible on the daily. First, all five of these companies have active social media profiles so you can follow them on Facebook, X, Instagram, etc. They all post articles and stories multiple times per day, so putting them in your social feeds can be a good strategy. Second, all five companies have their own smartphone apps. It may be a good idea to download a couple of these apps or even all five of them. Just make sure to not forget about these apps on your phone and open them several times per week to read. Third, you can sign up for free or paid email newsletters from these websites. There are multiple newsletters to choose from so pick wisely and don’t overload your email inbox!
Absorbing personal finance knowledge daily is a good habit for all of us to have. These five websites are great tools for learning more about money. Pick your articles wisely and spend time reading articles that you believe can improve your finances. Your wallet is counting on you!
